In March 2012 Darren Clarkson-King made a personal solo expedition on the rivers of Everest.
He will be presenting footage & photographs taken during the trip in the first ever talk to be held at the Paddleworks Shop. At 7.30 p.m 22nd May

The talk will be FREE on a first come first served basis at

Dee River Festival 23-25th March 2012

Its all systems go for the inaugural Dee River Festival in March. Preperations are right on target with a full compliment of guest coaches for the weekends workshops covering activities as diverse as freestyle kayak technique and Stand Up Paddleboarding. Demo boats from Pyranha, Gatz, Titan, Jackson, Nomad, Robson, Wavesport, Perception and BigDog are confirmed.
Friday night warmup plays host to the UK film premiere of Hanuman Airlines, chronicling Sanu Babu Sunuwar’s epic Himilayan adventure. Peak UK’s Pete Astles and friend of Sanu is going to introduce the film with a short slides show.
We’ll also have a preview of the eagerly anticipated new Welsh Rivers Guide with Tom Laws and Patrick Clissold.

Saturday night sees the first DRF Talk Battle Presentation. 2 teams of 4 of the UK’s top adventure paddlers will pit their tales of derring-do and you the audience decide who is the winner. This fast paced lecture evening is guarenteed to keep proceedings interesting and, well differnet form the normal!

NAME A NOMAD, WIN A PADDLE!

FANTASTIC £200 CUSTOM BUILT CARBON PADDLE COMP……….

Here in Llangollen on the banks of the River Dee, Nomad Composites and Mike Dalton have for 25 years been producing world class and Olympic medal winning slalom and polo designs. Multiple World Slalom Champion Richard Fox and Sydney Olympic Silver medal winner Paul Ratcliffe have paddled kayaks designed and built by Nomad’s Mike Dalton.

Coming straight up to date, the guys upstairs at Nomad have come up with a super light and super stiff play boat, using all the skills learned over a quarter of a century. The result is the Nomad “Thingy”, at least that’s what we have nicknamed it for now. We want you to suggest a name for this beautiful work of kayaking art. The competition winner will recive a set of custom carbon Nomad paddles made to their specification right here in Llangollen.
